Web Courses for Motivational Interviewing // Coming in February 2013 // The Center for Strength-Based Strategies will have 20 seperate web courses in Motivational Interviewing. Many agencies or courts are used to Continuing Education Courses on the web that are simply page - after page - of text followed by a test. These course are developed in brand new software that are highly engaging.
The participant must use his/her cursor to decide between choices --- and the old problem of "learn wrong - do wrong" is avoided with this new software because mistakes are corrected or when the student makes a correct choice - the reasons the choice was correct are explained as well.

Just starting a full train-the-trainer initiative for Motivational Interviewing (MI) with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. What an effort. Louisiana DOC hopes to end up with 24 MI Trainers to turn their state over to services that are improved for engagement and retention.
More to come on this initiative in Louisiana.
